Pho Quyen: Reviews & Ratings
My family and I have been going here for many years and I can't believe I thought I had a review up already! I may be a little biased but honestly Pho Quyen is one of the best Viet cuisines in the area. While I'm not the biggest fan of the Pho, the other dishes are always a hit and I love trying different items. My top faves that I highly recommend are of course the fresh summer rolls, the roasted quail app or the pepper shrimp app; the cubed butter beef with a side of fried rice; newest fave is the angel hair with grilled pork; and finally, my most fave since they are the only ones that offer it around here, whole fried pompano. When I ask for it, the owner generally knows who it is lol! Do yourself a favor and try out these dishes. I've watched this place come a long way and are well worth becoming your favorite as well. Huge shout out to Tommy and Stephanie for being the awesome servers that help keep this place popping! I look forward to seeing them when me and my bf come by.
Definitely would go back. Some inconsistencies with the menu. They described my dish as having peanuts on top but there wasn't. I asked for a flavor of boba listed but they never carried it. The onion broth was a culinary experience with incredible flavors layered subtly and warm spices. The steamed pork dumplings were delicious. I ordered vermicelli rice noodles with grilled pork. The noodles were cold. I liked the pork- I'm not complaining- just trying to describe it accurately. It was sliced super thin and tender but chewy because it was a highly marbled piece of meat. I ordered the strawberry boba. The flavor was good. This is a drink with a high amount of shaved ice so that your drink is Very cold and refreshing. It didn't get watered down at all... I don't know how they accomplished that trick but I enjoyed it to the last slurp. The dressing for the dark green salad was super light. Very mild slightly sweet. Good contrast to my flavorful grilled pork.
Atmosphere is nice. The servers were friendly but didn’t do a lot of check ins. The pho chay I had tasted off. I thought it was not my personal preference but it tasted a little like a toilet bowl, and I ended up getting sick two days later with food poisoning. My husband’s dish was very good. Thai iced tea was yummy.
Visited Pho Quyen last night as our neighborhood Vietnamese restaurant in Wesley Chapel closed at 9:00 pm. We ordered Pho with Chicken. While the Pho was good, the chicken we did not like at all. There was way too much of noodles. Also, the broth could be more richly flavored. We felt it was mild. However, the Pork Stir Fry with Spicy Lemongrass and Chilli sauce with bell peppers and onions saved the day. This dish was spectacular. The flavors were awesome and the peppers and onions had a very good crunch. Would go back again and again, just to have this dish. Service was quick and pleasant. The only reason I took off a star was because I expected more from the Pho.
Pho Quyen is a good Vietnamese restaurant located in Tampa. The food was overall pretty good and tasted fresh. The broth could have been more clearer and bit more beef flavours. It's decent for a city with a smaller Vietnamese community. We had a large group but service was friendly and attentive, getting our food out quickly.
I have been to this restaurant a couple times now and have been impressed with the quality and level of service each time. This restaurant serves high quality Vietnamese dishes and has an array of choices. If you enjoy Vietnamese cuisine I highly recommend this restaurant. The Pho was delicious and they serve a generous portion as well. I also ordered the avocado boba smoothie which was both interesting and delicious and the rainbow ice dessert which is another Vietnamese staple. Very impressed overall.
Great place to visit. Big plates and very good food. Fast service.
I love this place. If you like it pho, you should come in to try it. Pork spring rolls is really good, and also if you are the fan summer roll you should try it pork and shrimp. Fried calamari is good as well. I'm really satisfied.Definitely gonna come back for sure!
